CompactStats changes in public. Every change to the model, the data or the site that affects what you see is listed here with its date, corrections included. Ratings frozen before a change always keep their original numbers.
October 2026
6 October — New: our record, every frozen rating graded against the official result and rebuilt after each data refresh; two new research write-ups (promoted teams, the calibration correction); this page.
6 October — Ratings now freeze at the first data refresh within 12 hours of kick-off. The window used to be four and a half hours, and when a scheduled refresh ran late some kick-off slots were never frozen at all.
6 October — Calibration correction: ratings in the 30s and 40s were too pessimistic about goals. Previous-season records are now regressed before use, and the ★ mark needs both teams four games into the season. The full story.
6 October — Fixed: on the W/D/L tab, a fixture card's goals panels showed the result-market numbers, including a stray "NaN%".
6 October — Layout fixes for phones and tablets, security hardening, a clearer privacy policy, and a real "Continue without ads" choice.
September 2026
3 September — New for every league: how many games are left, built from the fixture list.
3 September — Every played match now keeps its page for the whole season.
3 September — Faster: opening a team's season went from about a second to a few milliseconds; steadier rows on phones.
August 2026
31 August — Teams that leave a division keep their pages; head-to-head scores stay readable on narrow screens; European competitions join the country bar.
28 August — The match-result model now starts each team from its own last season, with measured starting points for promoted and relegated sides. Why.
13 August — Instant search; a step-by-step "how we got this number" on every fixture; crawlable match pages; rebuilt team pages; six more research articles.
8 August — Retired our under 3.5 calls, though they were winning. The reason.
7 August — A full design pass, and arrow-key navigation through the fixture list.
July 2026
31 July — Every rating is now frozen before kick-off into a version-controlled ledger. Why that matters.
29 July — League averages anchor to the previous season instead of chasing hot starts. The study.
27 July — The methodology page and the first six research articles.
23 July — The strongest-combinations panel, locked each morning and graded.
22 July — No picks on European qualifiers or pre-season cup ties. The evidence.
21 July — Cups and European competitions join the main fixture and result lists; league and team pages.
20 July — The ★ high-confidence tier (what a 70% call means); recalibrated European rounds; long-trip notices.
18 July — Expected goals (xG) in the goal model for leagues that publish enough of it; 23 more leagues.
17 July — Over 3.5 becomes a three-way call. Why.
16 July — Kick-off times in your own time zone; rating weights re-fitted across 30,582 matches.
14 July — A goal-expectation model blended into the over/under ratings; both-teams-to-score recalibrated.
13 July — Match results (W/D/L) from a goal model tested walk-forward; bookmaker prices and an edge column; official data from API-Football.
12 July — The first version.
